1. You round a wire around the property - wherever you want to create a boundary - you can either hang the wire on an existing fence or bury it or a combination of both.

2. You hook the boundary wire into the transmitter and then plug a transmitter into a standard power outlet.
3. The transmitter emits a radio signal that travels along the boundary wire.
4. The dog wears a collar with a receiver on it, the receiver picks up the radio signal and alerts the dog is nearing the boundary.
5. When the dog reaches the boundary the collar unit goes "Beep beep" warning the dog not to go any further, if the dog does not retreat, he recieves a static correction - which is startling but not harmful.
